13/1/12

His main goal in life is to become the 10th's right-hand man, whatever the cost. He has a tendency to become jealous of anyone who gets close to Tsuna, especially Yamamoto, fearing that they'll try to steal his position as Tsuna's most dependable/important family member. He is a lone wolf who has a hard time opening up to anyone since he's been rejected so many times in the past, and thus he likes to do things on his own without asking for help. Gokudera is very loyal to the ones he do care about though. He is highly competitive, and hates to loose.

Gokudera usually slacks of at school, often skipping classes because he's bored, but he's highly intelligent and always aces his tests. (In D&D terms you could say that he has high intelligence, but low wisdom). G-script is his self-invented code script. He's not very fond of authority, and once declared that ''anyone older than me is my enemy''.

People often find the half-Italian scary due to his usually dark punk-ish clothes, sharp comments, tendency to pick fights and fierce temper, although some girls find the ''rebellious badboy'' attractive. He's usually seen with a frown on his face, except when he's talking with Tsuna, or when he's really excited about something. Like cryptozoology, occult stuff and science fiction - he's incredible interested in stuff like that. He's also quite superstitious.

Gokudera used to be a talented piano player when he was young, and his hearing is very good. He is also a chain smoker; he usually lights the dynamite with his cigarettes. Don't ask him to help out in the kitchen; his cooking skills aren't great, and he'll probably break every plate as he tries to do the dishes.

Earlier he had a habit of always sacrificing himself for causes he strongly believed in, like shielding Tsuna with his body when he was about to get shot by Chikusa's multiple poisoned needles. This habit probably steam from low self-confidence - he wanted to be needed by someone, depended on. Shamal, his mentor, makes him aware that he must stop being so reckless and quit trying to throw his life away during the Varia training arch - ''What I couldn't see was my own life.'' Tsuna also helps Gokudera realize this in the Storm Ring Fight.

This also comes up again during the Future Arch; Gokudera says that he'll win for Tsuna and the Vongola family, while Tsuna forbids him to gamble his life on something so insignificant. Everyone is shocked when Gokudera refuses to follow one of Tsuna's orders for the first time ever. Gokudera then proceed to tell them that he means the words in a whole new way now. He still wants to become the right-hand man, that is the proof of his existence, but he's figured out that he doesn't just have to be fearless and strong - he wants Tsuna to be happy, and one way to achieve that is keeping himself and the rest of the family alive.

OOC: History

13/1/12 11:46 pm
Gokudera grew up in a castle in Italy with his father who apparently is a rich mafioso, and his step-mom. He also has a half-sister called Bianchi; he still gets sick every time she's near him due to her always feeding him poisoned food when they were young (her special talent is poison cooking). She can avoid making him feel nauseated if she covers part of her face.

Shamal, a renowned hitman, used to work for the family as a doctor at some point. Gokudera admired the man so he approached him, wanting to learn his Trident Mosquito technique. Shamal taught him how to attack with dynamites instead, but quit instructing the kid when he came back from a fight, bragging about all the injuries he'd gotten. Gokudera didn't understand the reason for this until many years later.

Hayato took piano lessons from a very talented, kind woman. He was very fond of her, and was pretty sad when she suddenly stopped showing up when he was 3 years old. Five years later he heard the maids gossiping, and realized that the piano-teacher was actually his real mom, and that his father had assassinated her! (In later chapters Bianchi tells Gokudera that his mother was very sick, and that was the real reason why her car slipped of the cliff on an even road. He's unsure if that's the real truth however).

So at the age of 8, Gokudera ran away from home and made up his mind to join a Mafia family to get revenge on his father. Things didn't go as planned however; no family wanted to accept the young pianist, pointing out that he was a weak and troublesome halfbreed(3/4 Italian due to his father, and 1/4 Japanese due to his mother). So he got by on his own, taking a few odd jobs here and there to get by and make a name for himself. He was given the nickname Smoking Bomb due to his fighting technique and his ability to conceal dynamite all over his body.

At the age of 14, a legendary hitman called Reborn gave him a call, suggesting that he should head to Japan and challenge the candidate to becoming the 10th boss of Vongola. Hayato heeded the arcobaleno's advice, and quickly decided to kill Tsuna because he thought that the boy was pathetic and unworthy of the title. During the struggle, Gokudera lost control of his dynamites so they were about to blow him up instead of his target, but Tsuna demonstrated what he was really capable of and saved his life. Gokudera was so touched and amazed that he vowed to follow the fellow teen from that day forward.

Gokudera doesn't approve of most of Tsuna's growing circle of friends at first, but he accepts them after a while. He becomes expecially jealous when Tsuna befriends the talented and popular baseballplayer called Yamamoto, but later on learns to accept him too, and even trust him.

The Family's first real fights are with Mukuro and his gang. Gokudera fights against Chikusa and his deadly yoyo, and think he has won when Tsuna shows up. Chikusa reapears, attacking the soon to be-mafia boss, but Gokudera takes the hit instead. Yamamoto arrives in the brink of time and chases the attacker away, and Gokudera is sent to the hospital where Shamal patches him up. He later later get's to fight against the yoyo-guy again, but his injuries act up, and Chikusa gets help from Ken. They are about to attack him, but he manages to free an imprissoned Hibari that helps him out. Gokudera is also one of the people possesed by Mukuro later on, and has to fight Tsuna against his will. Tsuna manages to save everyone in the end though, and Mukuro and his friends are imprisoned.

The next big fights are against the Varia. Squalo arrives, and beats up Gokudera, Yamamoto and Tsuna. The friends figure out that they need to train in order to get stronger, and Hayato asks his former mentor to help him out. Dr. Shamal refuses to teach him anything at first, but later gives in. He gives Gokudera tips on improving his techniques, and helps him create the rocket bomb.

He use these tricks in the fight against a enemy Storm Guardian, Belphegor. It's difficult to figure out Bel's attacks at first, but Gokudera manages to beat him in the end. But Bel uses his remaining strenght to hinder him as Hayato is about to pick up the second part of the Storm Ring which he needs in order to confirm that he won the fight, and they continue to struggle. Tsuna and Shamal shouts that Gokudera should give up and return to them since the timelimit of the battle is about to run out, and a bomb is about to blow the two combatants to pieces - it's not worth dying for! Hayato is swayed, and returns to everyone's relief, but he looses the battle since he left the ring behind with Bel. Later in the Varia fights he battles Levi, using the new tecnique learned by Shamal to defeat him by blowing up all Levi's lightning umbrellas at once. The Vongola family wins in the end.

The next turn of events brings the gang 10 years into the future! This happends when everyone is shot by Lambo's bazoka, a device that makes you switch place with your 10-year older counterpart. Tsuna and Gokudera are the first to arrive, and get to hear about the grim future they hope to change. They also learn that people in this era fight with something called flames and box weapons. A woman called Lal Mirch agrees to teach the Vongola kids how to use this power.

When Kyoko, one of Tsunas friends, vanish, Yamamoto and Gokudera ventures out of the Family stronghold to find her. They get into a fight where the half-Italian tells Yamamoto how much he hates him, but the friendly guy tries to laugh it of as usual. They then meet up with Gamma, the captain of the Blackspell, and Yamamoto suggest that they need to team up in order to take him down. Gokudera refuses coldly, declaring that he'll handle this himself, for once making the cheery teenager beside him angry.

Yamamoto watches as Gamma and Gokudera fight, but finally can't manage to be passive anymore, knocking the silver-haired teenager out of harms way as he gives him a lecture on how selfish he is, and that he needs to open up to more people than just Tsuna. The baseballplayer then starts fighting Gamma instead, but Gokudera joins him seconds later after recovering from the shock of Yamamoto's lecture, saying that it's ok for them to work together after all. The two are friends again, but still can't manage to take down the Blackspell leader. Hibari saves them in the end.

After this they all train even harder. Bianchi offers to train Hayato, but is upset when he runs away. Later on he emerges, along with a fierce little wildcat called Uri, revealing that he learned the new tecnique C. A. I. by himself. He uses this way of fighting when he meets Gamma again. The two are on par now, and end up with a draw were both are too hurt to fight any longer.

Many fights and turn of events later, the group manages to defeat the main enemy, and are able to return to the past.

OOC: Powers

13/1/12 11:48 pm
UNARMED

Gokudera isn't exceptional strong or athletic, but he can throw a mean punch and sustain a few injuries. Canon suggests that he's able to beat up regular thugs his age, but experienced fighters and strong adults will be difficult for him to handle with no weapons at hand.

DYNAMITE

His main ability his throwing the dynamites he has concealed all over his body, thus he is a mid-range fighter. Gokudera uses his cigarettes to ignite the explosives.

His various techniques are called
- Mini Bomb: He uses this to gain extra speed by propelling himself forward, or blasting away his enemies in close combat when he doesn't have time to dodge.
- Double Bomb: Doubles the dynamite he usually throws. 8+8=16
- Triple Bomb: Triples the dynamite he usually throws. 8+8+8=24
- Double Bomb with mini bombs: A depth perception trick. The small bombs are thrown before the larger ones in order to create the illusion that the bombs were all the same size, and thus further away.
- Bomb Blaze: Gokudera throws lots of bombs in close proximity to the target.
- Smoke bomb: Uses bombs to create a smoke screen so he can flee or attack.
- Rocket Bomb: These were created because it is quite hard to pinpoint and calculate the right distance between himself and the target, and sync it with the actual time that the bombs would explode. The rocket bombs causes the backsides of the missles to fire up, speeding towards the target and exploding on impact.

BOX WEAPONS

Wave Energy and Dying Will Flames
Wave energy refer to waves of life-force that flows through everyone, but most only have one or two of them. The size and balance of an individual's waves varies, and there is usually only one of the waves that has the capacity to light up the flames of a ring.

This flame is called a Dying Will Flame, and it is directly connected to the strength of its owner's resolve. The flame is fueled by the owner's energy so the user will get tired if manipulating the flames for a long period of time, and the flames will thus grow weaker. This also applies if the user is injured, sick etc.

Gokudera is one of the rare people who has more than one wave energy coursing though his body as he's able to manipulate 5 out of the 7 Sky Flames. He's also able to use these simultaneously in battle, which is basically unheard of. He wears the Vongola Storm Ring and 4 skull-rings that let him use the Rain, Sun, Cloud and Rain attributes required to handle his weapon. A Ring will react to a Wave with the same Attribute as itself and convert it into high-density form of energy, the Dying Will Flames.

Box Weapons
These are are small, cube-shaped boxes that store powerful weaponry inside. Gokudera has a Vongola Storm box so he has to use his Storm ring to open it. When opened, it releases Uri, the Canon/Flame Arrow and a belt with 16 little boxes attached to it.

Sistema C.A.I
In the future he learns how to use the Sistema Cambio Arma Istantaneo ( Sistema C.A.I ) which means ''Instantaneous Armament Change System''. It is a set of 16 Box Weapons that can combine and quickly interchange between each other. They're rather complicated to use since they need to be opened in a prescribed order for the system to work at all; a puzzle. It's 4 Storm-boxes, 2 Lightning-boxes, 4 Rain-boxes, 2 Sun-boxes and 4 Cloud-boxes.

The main part of the C.A.I is a small, skull-shaped canon that appears on Gokudera's left arm. It can fire missiles which he can enhance with the help of the rest of his boxes;
- Storm: Causes the object or person to degenerate.
- Sun: It increases the missile's speed, and gives them an irregular acceleration that confuses the enemy.
- Cloud: It allows a single bullet shot from the canon to divide itself using the Cloud's propagation, and thus creating a widespread attack that is difficult to avoid.
- Rain: Weakens the enemy's defenses so it's usually used to coat the Storm Flames for a better effect.
- Lightning: Creates a solid laser beam. Storm flames coated with the Lighting attribute is the canon's strongest attack, and it's called 'Flame thunder'.
- Not loaded with missiles: Creates a strong burst of air that can extinguish other's Dying Will Flame temporary.

The other features of the Sistema C.A.I;
- Contact Display: Provides visual information that help Gokudera accurately aim at the enemy while taking into account environmental conditions such as wind, gravity and magnetic fields.
- Storm Disc: It hovers above the ground while he's standing on it, making him able to get around faster on the battlefield.
- Bone Loops: A set of discs that looks like bones that can deflect enemy blows and trap enemies temporarily.
- Uri: The little fierce wildcat isn't much use in her small form, but she can turn into a dangerous leopard with the help of the Sun-attribute. Gokudera can't manage this himself though since his Sun Flame isn't strong enough.

G. Archery
Uri is able to combine with the Flame Arrow in the Cambio Forma (form change) which is an exclusive mode to the Vongola boxes, and thus turn into G. Archery which is a weapon similar to a longbow made out of bones. It can fire powerful Storm Flames at the enemy; these are more intense than the regular storm attacks. The attacks are called Tornado Flame Arrow (single powerful shot) and Gatling Arrow (many arrows that can be used to pierce the enemy to the ground in order immobilize the enemy).

CARRIERO NOTE

His useless power in Carriero is that he keeps his dynamites, but instead of exploding, they release doves, confetti and similar items.
Go ahead; constructive criticism is welcome ^^ I'm struggling a bit with the fact that Reborn was a crack manga before turning into more standard Shonen, but I'm trying to find a balance so I hope I'm not too inconsistent! Annon posting should be on, but I don't know how to turn of the IP tracking ^^; I've disabled the screening too.

Oh, and go here to see some notes on how I play him that may differ from other Goku rp'ers out there.
